For a Better Tomorrow

Prizes Worth Rs. 75,000 to be Won !!!

Deadline extended till 16th March

Benjamin Franklin once saidBy failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail”.

The year is 2011. The members of the planning commission gather to forge the outline of the next 5 year plan. They start by auditing the resource wealth of the country to help formulate a plan that would most effectively and optimally utilize the assets at the nation's disposal, while augmenting its deficient resources. The 11th plan having been unsuccessful to a large extent, the members decide it's high time that the shining new 'Young India' shoulder some of the responsibility.

So, Young Turks of India, you have 30 days to frame the next 5 year plan (2012-17) and achieve what its predecessors haven't.

Keeping the relative inexperience of its newest and youngest members in mind, the Planning Commission has decided to split the task into 6 differently themed components. They will then compile the next plan using inputs from the various sub committees formed for each sector. Participants are required to choose one vertical from the 6 given below. You will be provided with background knowledge about the major challenges of that sector which may be considered for immediate action. The participants should keep their plans in sync with the previous plans prepared by the Planning Commission, the Vision 2020 document and the Millennium Development Goals.

The verticals for the competition are:

  1. Unemployment and Poverty Alleviation
  2. Infrastructure and Urban Planning
  3. Governance and Social justicea
  4. Agricultural and Food Security
  5. Research and Development
